The project: Label design contest for the 2024 release of Hellbent Brewing Company’s TREAD IPA. As a part of Hellbent's “Do Good, Drink Beer” commitment to community, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the TREAD IPA will be donated to TREAD in support of our mission to enhance and protect sustainable outdoor recreation in the region.
The idea: A playful take on celebrating the outdoors. The kooky, twisty legs represent all types of hikers and outdoor enthusiasts and the joyful, cheeky spirit captures the feeling you get when you put down your phone and get the eff outside. I wanted to bring lightness and joy to this idea. After all, it's beer and the outdoors—a combination that's all about having a good time. (btw, I lost. I'm a big ole loser, but I had fun so it's still a win/win).
A bit about this beer and the Tread organization:
From the Hellbent Brewing Company in Seattle, this TREAD IPA is brewed and dry-hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra hops, all grown in Washington. It’s a perfect summertime IPA, packing a big, citrusy punch with a light, piney bitterness at the finish.
TREAD is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving regional outdoor recreation for sustainability and accessibility for current and future users. TREAD’s mission is to enhance and protect outdoor recreation spaces in Douglas and Chelan counties.
